Where do you live?
 Bloomington, MN
Approximate number of previous nights spent canoe camping?
 75
Do you have the gear or use an outfitterer?
 Most, no canoe though
Preferred/Typical party size?
 Not over 4.
What length of trips do you do/available to do?
 8 day trip, when I didn't work it would be 12-14
Preferred season?
Late August
What % of the trip do you travel/base camp?
mostly travel with a layover day if I feel like that.

What difficulty level do you go for?
I like to feel I have accomplished something so nothing scares me away. whatever it takes to get me where i want to go.

What area of the park are you most familiar with and do you want to spend time there or explore new areas?
North Western, BWCA;  South Western, Quetico
 
Paddling  
Bow or stern preference?
 Stern.

What is your paddling rhythm?  
 depends on the day, and if I was nipping crown the night before.

Paddle the shoreline or beeline?
 Beeline if it the shoreline leads to far out of the way.

How nasty of water are you comfortable paddling in?
Fairly nasty as long as everything is secure and we are near the shore.  

Do you have strong navigation/map skills?
 I don't think I have looked at a compass in the BWCA. All I have needed up there is a map, I do bring a compass though just in case.
 
Portaging  
Do you usually single/double/triple/or? portage?
1 time across for me, pack light

Do you carry everything on your back, or alot of hand carry?
 Mostly on the back.

How well do you handle the mountain goat portages?
a little tired but I manage  

How well do you handle the boot sucking bogs?
 As long as I can get my boot back,  
 
Camping Style  
Would you rather cook or wash the dishes?
 rathter cook

Fresh or dried foods?
 dried

Cook over a fire, or over a stove?
 stove, unless it's meat or fish

Cook breakfast or breakfast bars?
 both

How many fish meals do you like to have during a trip?
 we'll see, this will be the first year I really fish

Hang the food pack or ground it?
 Hang er high

Axe? Saw? Both?
 niether

Sit around campfire all night OR wake at crack of dawn? (or both)
 both

On a travel day, what time do you like to hit the water?
 9:00

0 so far, much more this year.

Misc  
Do you have any medical conditions to be considered?
family heart issues, and serious Acid reflux, without my meds my trip would be miserable.  

Level of alcohol consumption?
Not much in the past, a little more this year, as one of the people joining me screams his snores out!!!

Is photography high on your list?
 Very High, but I am no good at it, I do it for the memories, not for the art.(although I would if I was good)
Do you like to go after pictographs?
 I'll detour to take them in, but usually not my destination.  
Do you like to go after waterfalls?
Absolutely, especially a good one to swim in, I love a good powerwash.

Do you like to go after the northern lights?
Yes.
 
Personality  
If the bugs are bad, will it ruin the trip for you?
 not ruin, but it sure won't help. One day of out of control skeets will test your mental edge, more than that I don't enjoy.

What weather conditions are difficult for you to deal with?
 Steady rain that continues for more than 2 days
 
If we've got a problem, would you rather discuss it or bury it?
 discuss up front

Other than illness or injury what events or conditions would make you want to quit a trip early and head home?
 Losing the foodpack, to a bear, the lake or anything else.
