Basics
Where do you live?  SE Minnesota
Approximate number of previous nights spent canoe camping?  40
Do you have the gear or use an outfitterer?  Have most of my own gear, no canoe yet.
Preferred/Typical party size?  2-10
What length of trips do you do/available to do?  7-14 days; how else do you get to do the things you want???
Preferred season?  Only gone fall and summer, would like to do an early spring laker trip.
What % of the trip do you travel/base camp?  Almost 50/50.
What difficulty level do you go for?  I'm up for just about anything.
What area of the park are you most familiar with and do you want to spend time there or explore new areas?   BWCA, never been to Quetico.

Paddling
Bow or stern preference?   Either/or...no big deal.
What is your paddling rhythm?   Smooth as can be.
Paddle the shoreline or beeline?   Depends on fishing and wind!
How nasty of water are you comfortable paddling in?  I've crossed Knife Lake in October with 4 foot rollers.  Not saying it was intelligent, but I've done it!   :o
Do you have strong navigation/map skills?  Pretty good.

Portaging
Do you usually single/double/triple/or? portage?  Double.
Do you carry everything on your back, or alot of hand carry?  Carry as much on the back as possible.
How well do you handle the mountain goat portages?   No problem.
How well do you handle the boot sucking bogs? Never really experienced one of these; not sure I want to!

Camping Style
Would you rather cook or wash the dishes?  No preference.
Fresh or dried foods?  Fresh if possible.
Cook over a fire, or over a stove?  Depends on burn restrictions, but fire is good!
Cook breakfast or breakfast bars?  Cooked if not worried about fishing, or just come in and have a later breakfast/brunch.
How many fish meals do you like to have during a trip?   I usually plan 3, and whatever cold/shore lunch we have.
Hang the food pack or ground it?   Hang it.
Axe? Saw? Both?   Saw; Sven Saw was a great investment!
Sit around campfire all night OR wake at crack of dawn? (or both)   BOTH!
On a travel day, what time do you like to hit the water?   ASAP, get down before the wind comes up; plus, paddling the calm is so great!

Fishing
How much time do you like to spend fishing?   As much as possible!
Which species do you like to go after?  Walleye, smallies, would love to go for early lakers.
How much tackle to you bring?   Usually a soft-side tackle container w/3 full boxes in it.
Are you good with a fillet knife?  Average, getting better.

Misc
Do you have any medical conditions to be considered?   Nil.
Level of alcohol consumption?   Try to keep it clean when up there, just for the safety/good decision making needs!  But, a little brandy or vodka is a great way to end the day!
Are you a smoker?   Very, very, very rare cigar...like 6 years ago was the last one!
Is photography high on your list?   Always.
Do you like to go after pictographs?   Never have.
Do you like to go after waterfalls?  Yes; I enjoy climbing up them if I can!
Do you like to go after the northern lights?  Yep.

Personality
If the bugs are bad, will it ruin the trip for you?  No, just complain a lot and swat a lot.
What weather conditions are difficult for you to deal with?   Cold and wet together...yuck!
If we've got a problem, would you rather discuss it or bury it?  Discuss it...burying it usually ends up burying the trip, unless it's just too petty and minor.
Other than illness or injury what events or conditions would make you want to quit a trip early and head home?  None that I can think of.
