Starting to go winter crazy for the summer's trip, so I thought I'd post...

Basics
Where do you live? Alexandria, VA
Approximate number of previous nights spent canoe camping? 100+
Do you have the gear or use an outfitterer?  Outfitter supplies just the canoe
Preferred/Typical party size? 3-9
What length of trips do you do/available to do? 7 day
Preferred season? Summer
What % of the trip do you travel/base camp? 99% Travel
What difficulty level do you go for? Moderate, I need at least a few big challenge days
What area of the park are you most familiar with and do you want to spend time there or explore new areas? Covered the North half of Q extensively, always trying to see new areas

Paddling
Bow or stern preference? Stern
What is your paddling rhythm? Even
Paddle the shoreline or beeline? Beeline as long as the weather allows
How nasty of water are you comfortable paddling in? Anything as long as the boat is not filling up with water
Do you have strong navigation/map skills? yes

Portaging
Do you usually single/double/triple/or? portage? single
Do you carry everything on your back, or alot of hand carry? Only carry the paddles
How well do you handle the mountain goat portages? Like em
How well do you handle the boot sucking bogs? Avoid if possible, rarely find it possible

Camping Style
Would you rather cook or wash the dishes? Cook
Fresh or dried foods? Dried for Dinner, everything else tends to come from Walmart
Cook over a fire, or over a stove? Stove
Cook breakfast or breakfast bars? No Cook (except coffee) for travel days
How many fish meals do you like to have during a trip? Plan for 0
Hang the food pack or ground it? Bring the gear to hang it, but never actually have
Axe? Saw? Both? Saw
Sit around campfire all night OR wake at crack of dawn? (or both) Some of both
On a travel day, what time do you like to hit the water? On Serious travel days I like to leave around dawn, otherwise we leave when awake and ready to paddle

Fishing
How much time do you like to spend fishing? the occasional evening
Which species do you like to go after? whatever bites
How much tackle to you bring? Very small tackle box
Are you good with a fillet knife? Just barely good enough

Misc
Do you have any medical conditions to be considered? No
Level of alcohol consumption? A sip or two for the evening
Are you a smoker? No
Is photography high on your list? Yes, but its part of the journey not the goal
Do you like to go after pictographs? If they are on the route
Do you like to go after waterfalls? If they are on the route
Do you like to go after the northern lights? If they are out and I'm awake

Personality
If the bugs are bad, will it ruin the trip for you? no

Other than illness or injury what events or conditions would make you want to quit a trip early and head home? Have never considered leaving early so far
