Where do you live?    Cadillac, MI

Approximate number of previous nights spent canoe camping?
About 75

Do you have the gear or use an outfitterer?  Got the gear

Preferred/Typical party size? 2-6

What length of trips do you do/available to do?  Full week

Preferred season? Mid to late May

What % of the trip do you travel/base camp?  I like a mix, I need at least a few camp days to fish

What difficulty level do you go for? I'm ok with difficulty if there's some good fishing to be had

What area of the park are you most familiar with and do you want to spend time there or explore new areas?   I'm most familiar with the northern and eastern portions of the Quetico.

Paddling
Bow or stern preference?  Stern, especially when trolling.  Then I can control speed and location.

What is your paddling rhythm?  Strong and steady!

Paddle the shoreline or beeline?  Depends on the lake or situation.  If fishing, the definitely the shoreline.

How nasty of water are you comfortable paddling in?  Don't mind some waves, but not going to take unnecessary risks.

Do you have strong navigation/map skills?  Yes, I can read a map pretty well.

Portaging
Do you usually single/double/triple/or? portage?  Usually double.

Do you carry everything on your back, or alot of hand carry? Mostly on the back, or even lashed into the canoe.

How well do you handle the mountain goat portages?  Not a problem.

How well do you handle the boot sucking bogs?  Not a problem.

Camping Style
Would you rather cook or wash the dishes?  Cook.

Fresh or dried foods?  Fresh.

Cook over a fire, or over a stove?  Stove.

Cook breakfast or breakfast bars?  I'd just do breakfast bars, but my companions usually want a big breakfast.  They cook it while I fish!

How many fish meals do you like to have during a trip?  Lots!

Hang the food pack or ground it?  Ground

Axe? Saw? Both?  Both

Sit around campfire all night OR wake at crack of dawn?  Campfire

Fishing
How much time do you like to spend fishing?  ALOT, both in canoe country and at home.

Which species do you like to go after?  I like the variety of the Q.  My favorite though would have to be the lake trout.  At home I mostly pursue salmon, steelhead, and stream trout on Michigan rivers.

How much tackle to you bring?  Usually too much.  My call would be to bring less food and more tackle, although my companions don't usually like that strategy!

Are you good with a fillet knife?  Yes.  In fact, I can't stand to let anyone else clean fish!  I have to check the stomach contents too, of course.

Misc
Do you have any medical conditions to be considered?  No.

Level of alcohol consumption?  Very low.

Are you a smoker?  No.

Is photography high on your list?  Yes, especially if there are fish involved!

Do you like to go after pictographs?  They're cool, but not a high priority.

Do you like to go after waterfalls?  Yes, especially because there are usually fish to be found at the bottoms of them!

Do you like to go after the northern lights?  They're cool, but not a huge priority.

Personality
If the bugs are bad, will it ruin the trip for you?  Nope.  I've dealt with very mean black flies, and it didn't stop me from fishing, even when my companions wanted to bag the trip.

What weather conditions are difficult for you to deal with?  High winds that hamper or prevent fishing.

If we've got a problem, would you rather discuss it or bury it?  Discuss it.

Other than illness or injury what events or conditions would make you want to quit a trip early and head home?  Can't really think of anything.
