When I was on our high school trips, we were told about a guy up on McIntyre lake. The crazy, orphaned, axe wielding woodsman, that got his leg caught in a trap as a boy. He had a peg leg. He also was supposed to have chopped up several scouts in their tents on McIntyre, back in the 40's....but of course, he was still alive. His calling card was a THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, deep in the woods....and his name was Stumpy !

More pieces to the illusive "Legend of Badwater".  Gives me chills every time I think of it.
