If something doesn't work out, you can always delete your post and start over.  One way to see how a feature has been done is to click the "quote" option of a particular post which has the feature you want to learn.  Just imitate the method.  You will get the hang of it.  If you disappear below the surface, db or one of the moderators can throw you a preserver and get a fire going.
