Get some Nalgene bottles, Pour your drinks into them, Leave the can not-so-tight, Freeze them. Just takes a little thinking ahead of when you want them. Keep them together - insulate - could be as little as wrapping them in your sleeping bag, and this will keep for quite a while. A five gallon bucket for 6 bottles of powerade seems like a misuse of space. We use softside coolers to put our cold/frozen food in once we get to camp. Works for us. Bacon will still be semi frozen 4-5 days into the trip. Good luck.
