Pre - Cooked Bacon is good, and I have used it on canoe trips and will continue to use it (due to convenience), but I don't think I could say it is just as good :)!  I like thick cut bacon.  

Use your bacon grease to fry up a walleye fillet or two to have along with your bacon.  Then dump the grease in the fire making sure you don't linger above the fire.
