Thanks, guys!  Next summer I will be going on my second canoe trip... again paddling the Cache loop.

Now that I've experienced both, it's hard to say whether or not I prefer canoeing over hiking.  I definitely prefer the fishing in Quetico, because you have the opportunity to catch a lot of big fish.  There are hundreds of lakes in the Winds and we did catch a ton of trout, but they were mostly smallish (yet delicious) brookies and cutthroat. However, the incredible mountain views and meadows filled with wild flowers made up for it.  Quetico has a lot of beautiful spots too, but the mountains are just awesome.

Strangely, the mosquitoes were basically nonexistent on our last day after we descended 1000+ feet.  The trip would have been a lot more enjoyable if they had been like that the whole time.   ;D

I've been reading a lot more about photography in the hopes of making the most out of my trip pictures.     (You need to Login or Register have been really helpful, and I've learned a lot from them.
