I know the feeling.  I just spent an entire morning fighting a piece of 'technology' in a lab ...only to find out someone had changed one obscure setting without letting anyone know!  I respect your desire to fight & be stubborn & not give up - I hate to let the inamimate object win!  But it sucks up so much time!   >:( >:(
