Now you have me going back in time. I was the cook on one of my scout trips to "White otter" ,north of the Q.  We used 2 dutch ovens because of our group size. Boy did we eat well. I havent used your foil idea but, I have seen that GSI makes an alumium Dutch oven, it is on my short list ,about the  same price as cast, about 1/5th the wt. I will have to get one and do a gear report unless you get one first!! Did I give you an idea??.
