I didn't know about the aluminum version of the old cast iron.  Do you know what the weight would be? This would be a great idea.   A light weight vesion can be packed nicely.  If it were thin gage metal it could be a GREAT idea.  Thanks for the input.  I will keep my eyes peeled.    Any good receipes that you can remember.  I remember the cherry cobler as being dynamite, and stew - like Diney Moore type.  My mouth is watering now :-)
