Here's a possibility though. Clicking the little minus sign to the left of the category names will collapse that category to two lines. One is the name and the other if there are new posts or not. Collapsing all three boards should certainly put that recent posts link above the fold so to speak. It's probably only useful for those who visit throught the day but...
