Title: sending POD
Post by fishguts on Oct 4th, 2006 at 8:02pm
I'm having trouble sending todays POD...when I get to the preview button i get this
"The script cannot either find or write to the
/mmm1406/web/quietj/cards directory. Please check this setting if the BASEDIR variable, and the permissions of the directory. If you have them set to 755, please change them to 777. "

Was UP?

My guess is that POD submission is hardcoded to look at a certain server (mmm14xx) and it's not the right server anymore.  Just a guess.
I suspect this requires db intervention & he's been loaded down with this site lately so it may be take a little time...
(thanks again, db) -Tom

Title: Re: Receiving POD

My PC had been locking up the last several days if I try to view the POD as a guest.  My thoughts were that perhaps measures were taken to prevent spam /theft, yada yada..so I then took the formal approach by logging in to gander at the POD, which..,(wah lah!), ... did the trick.  However, now whether logging in (or not) my PC gets caught in some kind of never ending loop when attempting to view the POD.  My only recourse has been a complete shut down.  I've done scans, system restores, bot checks, hoping this would correct the issue.  Only thing I can think of is that I have gotten into the habit of cleaning out my cookies / history if not daily at the very least weekly.  Spam has become more of a battle  it seems even on the small scale PC NET surfer household.  Research a lighting fixture for the dining room via your favorite search engine and you've got... spam. :(

Any way..venturing back on topic.. This is not a huge deal for me as there are bigger concerns in life, yet when time is available I'd like to see if there is something I can or need to do to resolve this.  I too, enjoy the POD when it's available to me.

The POD doesn't care it you're a member or not. It makes no difference. It did for a day or two while I secured and rearranged things but not anymore.

Thru 1/1/07 it will be displaying a JAVA applet instead of the normal POD. That's probably what your computer is burping on. My suggestion would be to not look at it until the 2nd or 3rd of next year. Sorry.
