I thought this was rather surprising. It's nice to have an educated paddle person but this is a tad much to make laws versus simple educational programs.

After a particularly troubling day spent dealing with bureaucracy and red tape, I find this article very troubling. Hopefully an unreasonable idea such as this is promptly quashed and does not spread.

Perhaps part of the course could teach us how to safely pinch down the barbs on our hooks.

Methinks someone in the Florida state government is looking for a little more revenue.  I wonder what the paddler's license fee would be?

Unskilled paddlers = aligator food ;D

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is interested. With a watercraft type specific report to be given this spring to the Boating Advisory Council.
