For the wrong reason. Only sensitive instruments could detect the difference weather makes in a GPS signal. But given Murphy's law, alternate navigational tools are advisable. While I would NOT say a GPS is a required piece of saefty gear, they do provide benefits the compass/map do not. Low visibility and heavy wind have a way of rendering maps/compass senseless. |
