Years ago we went on a canoe trip in N. Manitoba.  We all had our group food, but each of us were responsible for bringing our own stash of treats.  One of our group brought Reese's peanut butter cups.  They faired okay in the cool September weather, in warmer weather tropical chocolate survives the best.  Anyway, he almost drove us to insane, by slowly eating two a day at break time for the entire 30 days trip.   Towards the end of the trip we canoed into a Hudson Bay post and were able to restock our supplies.  We all spent large sums of money on cases of candy, ice cream and of course peanut butter cups.
