Snacks -
gorp, with lots of m&m's and fruit in it. Can eat that all day. raisins: I usually have a box of raisins in my pocket when fishing/hunting for a quick pick me up. jerky - sometimes a nice teriyaki flavored dried beef can really get your mouth watering. missed foods: Bread was something we missed on our trips until we started taking ingredients for fresh biscuits. Before that, tortillas were as close as we got. I think there's always a desire for greasy food. A cheeseburger or steak and french fries is an excellent first meal once you return to civilization, regardless of whether it's a weeklong trip in the Q or a weekend backpacking trip up Penn's Creek (a little bit of heaven here in PA). Perhaps it's the natural desire for the intake of fat after a prolonged period of a rather low-fat diet. Perhaps it just goes well with the beer. |
