Sam Cook is a columnist for the Duluth News Paper.
I saw this book today in a antique shop in Duluth, and it contains about 30 or so short stories about his outdoor experiences and things like that. I do read his column and some of the stories in this book are taken Im thinking from the articles. Correct me if Im wrong but he does alot of really good stories about the fall time and hunting and getting skunked at fishing and just alot of material that gets you thinking of home and your life and thoughts. I dont know if this book is in print anymore but I think it was written about 20 years ago and this book is the first in a series of books hes written. |

Up North is a classic - Buy it. My copy is printed in 1986 and I believe it's the first of his four books. You are making me feel old since you found it in an antique store. (But I also saw antique plates on a Trans Am the other day). The book Up North is now in paperback edition.
