Title: "The Sound of White Water" by Hugh Fosburgh Post by Jimbo on Mar 20th, 2007 at 11:27pm
"The Sound of White Water" is by far the most tattered paperback in my library & so overused & abused that I keep it in a plastic baggie because the pages keep falling out! This fictional account concerns three buddies taking their annual canoe trip on an untamed river (probably in the U.P. of Michigan) sometime before the middle of the last century. A quick & exciting read, it is my favorite canoe-camping adventure tale, filled with episodes of the type of comradiery typical of the very best stories we see coming out of Canoe Country. Big fish, big water, & fun times... it's all there! The book can be a little hard to find but I GUARANTEE anyone who enjoys the tales spun on this website WILL enjoy reading "The Sound of White Water."
I accidentally discovered a few old copies of it today, still available through Amazon.com (see: (You need to Login or Register ). I'd love to see the remaining paperbacks fall into the hands of QJ'ers! This book has my highest level of endorsement. It is the stuff my daydreams are made of.... Jimbo 8-) |
