Title: Fiction - Books by William Kent Krueger
Post by fishinbuddy on Apr 7th, 2007 at 6:52pm
William Kent Krueger has written a series of stories around a character Cork O'Connor.
In order they are:
Iron Lake
Boundary Waters
Purgatory Ridge
Blood Hollow
Mercy Falls
Copper River

The books are set with the back drop of Boundary Waters, in a small town just outside the wilderness.  I enjoyed the books and those that like murder/mystery stories with the additional flavor of a small town and the boundary Waters.

I agree...this series is a fun read and I'm already looking forward to getting the next one.  Problem is I have a hard time putting them down and usually finish the book within a few days...then I'm left waiting.

Have read them all & now waiting for Audiobook "Thunder Bay" to arrive.  Familiar North Woods settings & interesting excursions into local Native American/1st Nation cultures.  I agree they are fun reads.

Highly recommended!

Just finished Thunder Bay.  Without wanting to say too much. :-?.I enjoyed the diversion away from the main character into the life of a vital character that previously has remained somewhat mysterious.

Kind of question the whole transition of Cork into PI, I kind of liked the way he always stumbled into trouble vs. now looking for it.

Anyway this has been a great series...while I enjoyed this one I hope this isn't a turning point that makes the new series more boilerplate.

Reyn,

Is "Red Knife" another Cork O'Connor tale OR is it another detour from the series?  Everything he writes is great but I particularly enjoy the O'Connor stuff.

Jimbo:

Red Knife is another Cork O'Conner story.  You'll enjoy this one too.

Just ordered Krueger's newest book, "Heaven's Keep," today.  This one is set in Wyoming.  Looking forward to another good read.

Just finished Heaven's Keep last night.  Maybe best yet!  Just like the others, easy read and a real page-turner.   [smiley=thumbup.gif]
