Title: Youth group trip, group cooking ????
Post by Vance_in_AK. on Apr 10th, 2007 at 4:20am
Last year I took our church youth group on a 5 day wilderness canoe trip (A first for all of us. I've done solo trips before but never group). There were a total of 10 of us. We split the food load up but served everyone individual portions of one large meal at breakfast & dinner.
This year I'm thinking about going to individual freezer bag meals at least for dinner, & possibly for breakfast too. Maybe an exception for a special night & morning. Our group size will probably be around 20 this trip.
Our country is mostly smaller lakes with decent portage trails up to 3/4 mile long, 9 in total, with a 14 mile slow river trip out. There is one planned layover day & enough slack for a second if we have wind or weather problems.
What has your exeperience been with meals for rips like this?
thanks.
