I'm glad you didn't get injured or knocked out of your boat by those Asian carp!!
All jokes aside this is a serious issue for sports fishermen and anyone who fish's water within the Great Lakes watershed. They have no natural enemies, eat voraciously, breed the same and drive out and overwhelm the natural species!! What's worse they've adapted to the colder water temps and are steadily moving into the Great lakes. I understand they have some kind of electric weir that stops them from entering Lake Michigan but all the experts I've heard talk say its woefully inadequate?? IF they get to Great Lakes there effect on sport fishing will devastate that part of a lot of states economy!! As usually the government is dragging its heels on the issue and probably won't get serious until one jumps up and whacks some Senator along side his head when he's out on a salmon charter ;) ;) |
