Since I'm plugging this book for free, I get to say that I suspect he had a rocky childhood with a last name like that??? ;D j/k Mike! Anyway, great piece of literature...invaluable since it really gives a newbie an idea of how to fish this area (or fish in general). Broken down by species, what lures to bring, techniques, etc., etc... Equally as valuable is the lake index in the back of the book (list of species in virtually every lake, some excluded for the Q though). There are some other good nuggets in there as well, should you purchase this gem. I bring it with me every trip for anyone interested who hasn't read it yet... Overall A grade! |

Yep great book and I own it too--just be carefull with the species listings in each lake. They are sort of outdated, and Furtman I think does say they are incomplete. I always check DNR listings (even they can be innaccurate) but it is a good starting place for planning the fishing part of the trip.

I learned to catch lakers deep from this book, a Sonar, who would think that lure could catch anything? this book should be required reading for anyone going to the area to fish for the first time
