Title: Re: Blackpowder and bagpipe Bw rondy anyone? Post by Riversend on Nov 20th, 2007 at 12:20am
wasn't sure if this pertains to early ice trippin, autum blues , wildlife sightings , current trip reports or what, but decided to put it here under foolishness ::)to prep for this trip, I swiged a couple gallons of punch.. and away we go,
This weekend, I made one of those early ice outings. I took photos and made notes . Short trip report is as follows : In preperation for the rondy, I thought I'd go out to the park and scout around. I've read this eary ice trip must be done in an aluminum canoe...being a doubter, I said " nope, I'll whip up a stout birch bark canoe .. I will go . So a couple hours later, i finished my canoe and was ready to grab some paddles and go. But, I remember.. paddles won't do.....gotta use pitch forks.....so I grab a pitcher of forks and I,m ready to go. Soon I'm way out into the middle of Q, when all of a sudden I spot a cougar that takes down a muose right there along the shore line not to far away . I 'm not surprised as I've heard of other recent photo documentarys of this. Moving along I spot what I thought was a great horned howl attacking a beaver as it put away the winters chow.Well, I made it home and the gene pool wasn't dimished at all. Soon as I get the photos I'll post them. |
