Just noting the trees are changing colors and it looks like a great day ahead of me as I drive down the Mountain Parkway to hike the gorge today.

Just got back uploaded the picks on the wp board.
Hiked 10 miles of both easy and difficult trail. Going back in 2 weeks. Looks like next week will be peak for the fall colors though. I could spend every weekend there if I had the time. qp |

qp,
Great place to hike and backpack...week or two for perfect color. After a hot summer, some short days and cool nights will be welcome. C |

Just Gorgeous ;D
Here in my part of MI, we haven't had a hard frost yet :o Nice for the outdoor workouts but not great for the fall color :( It's been in the high sixty's, low seventies, definitely not your normal Oct weather :-? |

Agreed, Neal. We just aren't going to get those brilliant colors in Michigan this year like we usually do. Around here the leaves are falling quickly but the colors haven't been that spectacular. And no killing frost as of late October. Still feels like September. I am ready to move up north! ;)
Loved your photos, qp! [smiley=dankk2.gif] |

Just picked two more bushels of tomatoes yesterday (!) in northern Indiana. 80 degrees last Sunday. I'm waiting for a frost so I can do something else beside can these #$%& things! :)
Nice pics! |

Cut them in quarters, rub with olive oil, sprinkle with fresh basil and dry them in oven or outside on screens in the 80' heat. Sun dried tomatoes keep a long time and are great in sauces or on trips ;D I love tomatoes, I wish I had your problem ;) |
