Another option to the oven rack is two pipes. If I'm going with a group and plan on cooking over a fire that's what I take. I think it carries easier. They just get lashed to a thwart and stay there. You do want an old pole bag to put them in so the black soot doesn't get on everything. Flatten the ends slightly so they don't roll off the rocks. You can place them so you have a narrow spacing on one end and a wider spacing on the other, depending on you pot sizes. This a popular in the Temagami area in Canada.
