Mad Nat, I'm right there with you on that entire thing. I was sort of suprised how many people on here dont use them. For me, they've always been a part of my outdoor experience on trips like Quetico or backpacking.  I too dont really notice the 'salty' flavor and when you are excerting yourself you need that salt to stay hydrated.  Anywho, this year I'm going to do both, but I still rely heavily on fish I catch.
