There were several dramatic moments, a lot of surprising Northern Hospitality, some crew members departing mid-trip, but my crew partner and I made it -- and we were the two oldest members of the crew !  Success !! I'd do it again.  1250 miles in distance, though, not the over 2000 that Eric Sevaried mentions.  

I may post trip reports when I have the time, but a book is in the writing and planning stages.
