Title: Re: Charlotte Harbor Post by intrepid_camper on Oct 17th, 2008 at 8:12pm
The tide came back up in the middle of the night and water was again lapping just a few feet from the tent door.
M was in charge of breakfast, cooking on a propane burner; she produced scrambled eggs with spam, hash browns, toasted bagels and coffee. Then time to break camp and re-pack the kayaks; launching into a 2-3 foot surf nose first. A short paddle got us behind some islands and out of most of the wind. Since it was still blowing NE we were pushed most of the way home. M and V were prepared with large umbrellas which they would open and hold in front of them, sailing easily down wind when the direction was right. |
