If I was buying a gravity filter right now I'd consider the MSR. I have no experience with them but they say it's field cleanable and it's rated for 1,500 liters per cartridge versus the 200 liters for the Basecamp. There aren't many reviews on them so it's hard to say if it would be a better choice and worth the extra money. But, it would be worth looking at:
