Many Tender Ties, Women in Fur-Trade Society, 1670-1870
by Sylvia Van Kirk
University of Oklahoma Press
ISBN: ON-8061-N1847-N4
Van Kirk is Associate Professor of Canadian History & Women's Studies @ University of Toronto
Originally written as a Ph.D thesis and rewritten into book form. I found it in a used book store. Mentioned it @ the Friends of Q store @ Dawson Trail and they also had it in their own library in the basement. Interesting read if you can find it. Great historical background on how Canada was settled and the differences between to two cultures and how they mixed. Of coarse the BW/Q border area was important thoughout the book. I consider it one of my best finds as far as books on the area and it's past.
