Started on a mission last year to collect as many true canoe trip adventure books as I could find.  I have many dozen with some of my favorites being..."Back Country" C Rutstrum, "New York To Nome" Steber, "In The North Of Our Lives" Norment, and of course..."Lonely Land" S Olson, "Paddle To The Amazon" Starkell....just to name a few! There are some great canoe adventure books out there!!!

Pierre,

Welcome to QJ! I like your signature line.

Have a look at R.M. Patterson's books. "Dangerous River: Adventure on the Nahanni" is excellent. I have recently started "Trail to the Interior", and will post a review when complete. This second one is starting a bit slower, with more history of the area - goldrushes and such along the Alaska - BC border. "Finlay's River" is supposed to be good as well, although I don't have that one yet. But I believe all would be good, worthy additions to your collection.

Thanks so much for the suggestions.  [smiley=dankk2.gif] I actually have "Dangerous River" but I havent started it yet.  I'll have to move that one up on my list and read that one next.

Love the site! I plan on spending much time here! Its awesome!

I must confess...my signature line comes from the Rutstrums book "Chips From a Wilderness Log".The chapter it took it from talks about his younger years when he would quit his job around July every year so he could take 2-3 months off for canoe trips. I bet he never regretted it! :)
