Although the brain-pickling solution we traditionally use is Jack Daniels, I've grown quite fond of Powers Irish Whiskey and will probably take it in this year along with our normal supply of Old No. 7.  (We're base camping on Saganagons this year, one portage so we can bulk up our provisions and equipment.)

I can't describe Powers much beyond it's incredibly smooth.  In the Tonto* scale of judging it rates a "Me Like, Kemosabe".  Also, as Irish whiskey goes it's fairly inexpensive.
