Back!
Trip was great. Water levels on the Frost were very good. LOTS of beaver dams, tho. Weather was pretty cold and rainy thru Wednesday, but our layover on Thursday on Gillis was outstanding. Lots of bugs... Portages were a way bigger pain in the butt than I expected. Lots of boulders and none of the put-ins and take-outs were any good. AND, if the portage between Green and Fling is 70 rods, like both Mackenzie and Fisher says it is, then I can slam dunk a basketball flat-footed! That S.O.B. is at least 120!! It was great to be in the woods again. I'll put together an actual trip report shortly. |
