If he's smart, Doug (or Albert or Claire or whomever) will route Darrel & the girls NEXT year wherever they need some portages cleaned out.  They got pretty good at that sort of thing, despite looking rather messy afterward.  In fact, I think my future strategy will be to send Darrel & his All-Girl Squad JUST ahead of us on future forays into the Great Unknown.
