a lot of us do other things in the fall - hunting season (archery) for me usually starts the last saturday in August, and runs thru the end of Sept - then its fall turkey, and deer rifle seasons.  Not to mention the climbing trips, and canoe trips on the local rivers.    My calendar runneth over and late spring is my best window of opportunity for a trip to Quetico - nothing agianst the fall, and a fall trip is on my someday list.
