The camera was a Canon EOS Digital Rebel Xsi; 12 megapixels.  Can't help with the settings; I'm not the photographer. That credit goes to my daughter-in-law whom, along with my son, I was guiding on their first Quetico trip. She desperately wanted to see a moose, but I couldn't deliver. Beavers, otters, a big turtle, loons, ducks, and a variety of birds kept her happily snapping away. But the eagles had her just about leaping out of the canoe with excitement. Next summer she wants to bring a tripod and bigger zoom lens.
