Title: Re: Getting to Beaverhouse Post by solotripper on Aug 10th, 2009 at 3:02pm
Jimmar,
I've never driven in myself, but have been there many times via Quetico Dave. On the way in from the highway, be sure to keep to right side of road, and IF you see an oncoming dust cloud, get over as far as you can, or even pull off a little if possible. The logging trucks run this road, and they get paid by the load ;) They run fast and don't always keep to THEIR right, so just be aware. There's big sign announcing the turn into Beaverhouse, and the trail winds in, with a few places you could turn off, but the MAIN trail is easy to follow, you shouldn't have any trouble. A few spots can get flooded over if they've had a lot of rain, but the roadbed is solid, and every time I've gone in, there have been just as many small compact cars as PU and SUV's. I haven't been in 2 years, but I know they did a recent parking lot improvement, so I'm "guessing" they probably made sure the trail is in good shape as well. Sept is a nice time to be in park. Enjoy the trip. Do you have a route planned yet? |
