Any metal workers/tin smiths here?
I'm sure you could use this design too make a cooking pot.
With a pot gripper to pick-up, I think the weight of water/food would hold it open?  Of course hot liquid/food would cause metal expansion.Maybe that's why no-one has tried too make one. That problem probably could be overcome, but at what cost? As an engineering exercise, almost anything can be done, but if it was a practical/affordable idea, I think it would of been done by now.
