All jokes aside, there's a serious component too my fiery death comment :-?
 I'm of the mind that ANYONE who thinks a campsite/portage trail is suitable for a bathroom undoubtedly isn't big on personal hygiene or health issues :(
 Handling the waste of morons like that requires more than just a strong stomach and long stick.  I can think of a few nasty diseases that handling human waste without the proper gear puts you at risk of contracting.  Packing THAT Bio-Hazard in a pack no matter how careful you might be, seems like asking for trouble :'(
