It weighs in at 17 - 19oz. and has a 14degree bend. Western red cedar is used for its exceptional beauty and lightweight. Not to worry though this is one sturdy canoe paddle. It's blade is wrapped in 4 oz. fiberglass and an epoxy tip is added to ward off rocks and debris. Satin finish polyurethane is used to better protect the hands from blisters and wear that more glossy paddles are known to produce. Every gunflint paddle is handmade in Winona, MN. Carved from laminated cedar with spokeshave, block planes and a number of various sanders. Hard work and extreme care go into every paddle. Product Details: Avg. Weight: 17-19oz.
