Sooo fun.  I had a boot sucked off there once ong ago.  
I used to use mid-calf no-lace rubber boots that kept you nice and dry -- until the water got above them or one got pulled off.  In this case I tried to hop on one foot with an aluminum canoe on my back & re-insert my foot without getting it wet.  I don't recall being very successful at that & but I think it looked entertaining to the guys I was with.

Anyway, what time of year was this?  It's on my route for August 2010 & I'm interested if I can expect as much slop as many years ago.
