As someone who has recently found a Temp to Hire job after over 2 years being unemployed, I can sympathize with wanting/needing jobs.

 The problem with the mining proposals is that in the past the destruction the mines brought to the environment was significant and long lasting and changed public opinion.

  Now their back with "NEW" techniques?  As advanced as the techniques may be, accident happen. Considering what's at stake and what the cost's could be long after the mines are played out, if I had a dog in the fight as a local, I would think long and hard about allowing them to mine again.

 I hope IF they do allow the mining, they make the criteria so strict and the monitoring so vigilant, that the company doesn't have the chance to cut corners or minimize problems.
