Hear Hear! I agree kypaddler.  We are fortunate to have folks like Sig Olson and others that lead a crusade to preserve the Boundary Waters from development.  I'm sure it was quite a difficult struggle for him particularly living in Ely and having all the mining, forestry and even resort owners with motors and float planes against him.  My hope is that industry, mining and development can live side by side to preserve this wilderness.  I'm convinced there are environmental rules and regulations in place to help maintain the wilderness and still be able to work and live in the area.  Including today the PCA Board passed the Regional Haze rule that is aimed at cleaning the elements of air pollution that cause haze, especially over pristine areas such as Voyageurs National Park, Isle Royale National Park and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness that receive special protections under federal Clean Air Act rules. In regards to "allowing others to hold differing opinions" I also agree.  Outside this forum it is frustrating seeing some Political groups using "Hollywood-like" movies to stir up emotions rather than using scientific facts.  One issue on these forums is that people can "read" more into someone's post than what they meant or intended, and then get defensive.  It's human nature and I'm guilty of that.
