I'm still on the fence about the whole thing, but when I started looking into this project about a year ago, one of my first Google searches took me to the "Friends" website. Since then, I have been appalled at the amount of intentional dis-information and imaginary "facts" being published by the Friends regarding these projects. I'm all for conservancy, and independent groups helping to protect our resources is a good thing, but scare tactics and dis-information only muddies the water and takes away from reasonable debates. I have not seen the "Avatar" comparison, but it doesn't surprise me in the least.
