I was wondering if anyone out there knew of any place that might have parts for old stoves and such. I have an old Peak 1 I bought in the late seventies that I think I need parts for. I told the rep at Colman I'm probably going to have to throw it away and he thought there was places out there I could get parts from.

I have an old peak one that has actually seen very little use. Pretty old though. Your welcome to it......I haven't used it in a loooooong time.

What is the problem with your old Peak 1?
I have a 20 year old one, that's still going strong, and has never had new parts.
Sometimes a good cleaning can bring a sooted- up stove back to life?
IF it holds air, and just doesn't simmer/burn properly, you can add a cupful of auto carb cleaner to half a tank of clean new fuel, turn on medium flame and run it dry. I do that pre-trip and haven't had a problem.

One of the problems is it doesn't hold air. Like you can't shut it off. The flame adjust is very loose also and that has something to do with the orfic as I remember you had to move it back and forth to clean it. Maybe that's the way it was... I don't think it's worth to much to fix I just thought if I could refurbish it a little I'd have a good stove again. And thank you MT I'd hate to take a good stove from you... Maybe I'll take it apart or just try your cleaning advice if I can get it to hold air long enough to light.

Its been sitting in its original sack in my shop for as long as I can remember. It went with me on my backpacking days until I figured out if I lightened up with the stove I could bring more fishin stuff. (Ha! some things never change!). When I put it away it worked fine. Probably only has 2 or 3 trips on it.

Anyway I'm a big believer in golden rule, reap what you sow etc. etc. and I'm probably in the red a bit in that department. Message me where you want it shipped, won't cost you a nickel. Hopefully you will be able to put it to good use.

Try here, add model # and see what you get?
IF they have a parts diagram for your model, then you can figure out what you need? I suspect some parts are interchangeable between the various Peak 1/ Featherlight/Dual fuel models? There Tech dept might be able to help.

Awsome site but didn't have one of the parts I'm looking for... But the web site is going into my favorites. I have the diagram and part numbers for my stove which helped.

I'd compare some of the other similar models too see IF the part you need might be "interchangeable" with a another model?

What part do you need?  A specific Google search might turn it up, or someone here might be able to help?

nctry_ben -- I don't know if you're near Minneapolis, but if so, Thrifty Outfitters, above Midwest Mountaineering, has a great repair shop. You can google them.

You can send the stove back to Coleman in Wichita.  They'll take care of it.

I had left my Peak1 sitting for about 10-15 years.  Then I started tripping in the BW.  I happened to be in Wichita Kansas one spring.  I took my old Peak 1 to the Coleman store.  They worked for about an hour and replaced about $15 worth of parts.  I think they charged me $10 total.

Hmmmm, I'll be down in Mpls at the Midwest Mountaineerings event in April... That will be my Canoecopia this year. I'll look into it. Thanks Prouboy.
