Where is the portage into Baptism proper anyway? Right? Left?

I've gone the other way in high water and as I recall we couldn't find a portage so just lined down the raps.

It is a good area to get confused going up and they will probably tell you stories about people following the river instead of the creek when you pick up your permit.

I tried going up one spring. I think it was spring. Anyway I was going to take a picture of how lost I was and realized I forgot a camera in the car. I bailed due to time and confusion and paddled down Pickeral instead so it must have been spring. There was impossible current to fight at a rather nasty pinch but like I said I was lost confused.

Nice way to end a trip as the packs are lighter.
