How many of you still use aluminum canoes for your BW trips?  I'm probably going to be buying a used 17' Alumacraft canoe tomorrow.  It will get plenty of use around here (central Iowa).  I also thought I would be able to save some money on BW trips as I've had to rent in the past.  But I'm 42 now and spend more time at a desk than anywhere else.  Am I crazy to consider portaging the Alumacraft?  I know the outfitters still use them, but I don't see that many posts from board members hauling them across portages.   :)
