I haven't figured out the drive yet.  Have only over-planned 3 days (tripper math, 1 windbound day every 3rd/4th day) on the road each way.  1 day to Soo, 1 day to TBay (pick up persians for dinner), 1/2 day to permits/park/launch.
Not sure if I'll tent it or motel it.  I've been in some motels where I would have been better off in a tent in the parking lot.  Weighing the pros/cons of unpacking/repacking gear every day.  The potential to lose something, either left behind or rolled under the car seat.  The comparative cost, park sites aren't much cheaper than motels where you get all sorts of conveniences.
